FAQs

When is the best time to visit Vietnam?

Vietnam’s ideal travel periods are typically February–April and October–November, when temperatures are comfortable and there’s less rain across most of the country. This makes sightseeing, cruising, and beach visits more enjoyable.

Do Indians need a visa to visit Vietnam?

Indian passport holders do require a Vietnam e-visa. However, Phu Quoc Island offers visa-free entry for Indian travelers for up to 30 days (check current policy before travel). For mainland travel beyond Phu Quoc, a valid e-visa/visa is required.

Does Vietnam have different weather in different regions?

Yes. Vietnam stretches over 1,600 km from north to south, so weather can vary significantly at the same time of year. • North Vietnam (Hanoi, Sapa, Ha Long Bay) has four seasons, including cooler winters (Dec–Feb). • Central Vietnam (Da Nang, Hoi An) experiences its main rainy season between September and November. • South Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc) has a tropical climate with a dry season (Nov–Apr) and a wet season (May–Oct). This means it can be sunny in one region while another experiences rain, so travel timing may depend on which part of Vietnam you plan to visit.

Is Vietnam safe for tourists?

Yes, Vietnam is considered safe for travelers. Street crime is relatively low, and most visits are trouble-free. Standard precautions (secure valuables, avoid unlicensed taxis late at night) are recommended in busy urban areas.

How many days are enough for a Vietnam trip?

A 7–10 day trip allows a good North–Central or Central–South exploration. A 10–14 day itinerary lets you experience Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An/Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City with some leisure or beach time in Phu Quoc.
